I think the main management of leftovers is knowing what to do with them.
With the cost of food , it makes no sense in throwing anything away, or letting your leftovers become a science experiment in the fridge.
Incorporating them into the next meal is ideal ( leftover bits of vegetables into a soup, omelette, casserole etc.).
But what about last nights soup ( that you made from scratch using up your leftovers 😀)
Yep....freeze it!
I made a turkey soup yesterday ( check out yesterday's post) and today I am freezing the leftovers for another meal.
That's right....I am getting 2 meals for practically free!
In a week or two I will pull out my yummy turkey soup/stew from the freezer when I may not have a lot of time to prepare a meal, add some homemade biscuits or dumpings and I have another complete meal that costs next to nothing and is hearty and healthy.
Feeding your family nutritious, hearty food need not be difficult.
When you make something like soup, stew or chilli make a double batch and put half in the freezer. In less time than it takes to order take out you can have a meal on the table.
Think of the money you can save!!
